Insurance may be available for Mining and Resources Contractors working across Australia or at remote sites, but the locations and working arrangements must be disclosed and accepted by the insurer.
Interstate and remote work #
Provide details of every state and territory where work is undertaken, along with remote, offshore or fly-in fly-out arrangements. Location can affect:
- workers compensation obligations
- motor and plant registration or road risk
- property, transit and equipment recovery exposures
- principal contract requirements
- insurer appetite, conditions and emergency response planning
Workers compensation schemes and requirements differ between jurisdictions, so the relevant state or territory authority may need to be consulted.
Overseas work #
Overseas activities must always be disclosed before work begins. Check the policy’s territorial and jurisdictional limits, the countries involved, the duration of each assignment and any requirement for locally admitted insurance.
Tell Webber Insurance about new locations, long-term placements or changes in the nature of the work. We can advise whether we handle the required insurance and, where we do not, identify an appropriate claims or insurance contact where available.
