What limit of Asbestos Liability cover do I require?

The appropriate limit of Asbestos Liability Insurance depends on several factors, including:

  • The type of work you do
  • The level of risk involved in disturbing asbestos
  • The size and nature of the sites or projects you work on
  • The potential for personal injury, property damage, or environmental contamination

Asbestos-related claims can be substantial, particularly when multiple parties are involved or legal action is initiated. Higher limits are generally recommended for businesses that:

  • Work on older buildings where asbestos is more likely to be present
  • Operate in sensitive or high-traffic environments such as schools, hospitals, or public buildings
  • Take on large-scale or government-related projects

You may also need to hold a minimum level of cover to satisfy contract requirements set by clients, head contractors, or government departments.

We currently offer Asbestos Liability cover with limits of $10 million or $20 million, depending on your business needs and risk profile.
