Do all accounting services have the same underwriting? #
No.
Some activities can require additional information or specific insurer approval.
Examples can include:
- Audit of listed entities
- Insolvency appointments
- Financial planning
- Investment advice
- Merger and acquisition work
- Large financial transactions
- Particular SMSF activities
Professional Indemnity Insurance does not provide authority to perform a regulated activity.
Where a service requires a particular licence, registration or authorisation, those requirements need to be separately satisfied.
The policy should also account for work performed by employees and contractors where the practice may be responsible for their professional services.
