A Business Insurance package does not automatically cover every risk faced by a business.
Business Packages are usually modular, so cover depends on the sections selected and the terms applying to those sections.
What might require different or additional cover? #
Depending on the insurer and policy, examples can include:
- Cyber incidents and data breaches
- Professional advice or services
- Registered motor vehicles
- Employee injuries
- Mechanical or electronic breakdown
- Portable tools or property not included under the policy
- Particular flood or natural hazard exposures
- Certain contractual liabilities
Policies can also exclude or limit matters such as:
- Wear and tear
- Gradual deterioration
- Rust or corrosion
- Defective workmanship
- Undeclared property or activities
This is not a complete list.
Some risks may be covered through an optional Business Insurance section, extension or separate policy.
Review the schedule, wording and endorsements together to understand what has actually been insured.
