In addition to Professional Indemnity Insurance, Landscape Architects may need to consider other types of insurance, depending on how they operate and the services they provide.
Other insurances commonly considered include:
- Public Liability Insurance, particularly if you attend site visits, conduct inspections, or oversee on-site works, as this can protect against claims involving injury to third parties or property damage
- Cyber Insurance, if you store project files digitally, use design software, or manage client data online, to help respond to data breaches, cyber incidents, or system disruptions
- Business Insurance (Business Pack), which can cover office contents such as laptops, plotters, drawing tools, and other equipment used in day-to-day operations
- Management Liability Insurance, which may be relevant if your business operates under a company structure and can help protect directors and officers against management, regulatory, or employment-related claims
- Workers Compensation Insurance, which is required if you employ staff and provides cover for work-related injuries or illness
If your role includes construction coordination, contract administration, or broader project involvement, your insurance may need to cover additional risks beyond design services alone.
If you are unsure which types of insurance apply to your practice, contact the Webber Insurance team. We can review how you operate and help ensure your insurance aligns with your work as a Landscape Architect.
